This tour is an opportunity to see some of the School’s outstanding literary treasures. The Maugham Library includes some 2,000 books given by OKS author Somerset Maugham. The manuscripts in the Walpole Collection provide a fascinating insight into English literature with examples from Byron, the Brontës, Wilkie Collins, George Eliot, WB Yeats, First World War poets, James Joyce and Virginia Woolf, as well as OKS authors including Patrick Leigh Fermor and Hugh Walpole himself. Also featured are John Betjeman, Philip Larkin, Ted Hughes, Sylvia Plath, Seamus Heaney and Alan Bennett.
